The Lister Group consists of thirteen artists who came together during their time at Bradford School of Art. Since graduating in 2004 their aims have been to maintain mutual support, encouragement and inspiration, to engage in a continuing dialogue about their artistic practice, and to be determined to find ways to share their artwork and ideas with wider audiences. Through their artwork members of the group express their talents for communicating their experience of the world, their way of seeing the world from different viewpoints and inspiring other people to look at everyday object and concepts in a fresh light.
Each of them has story to tell, literally or metaphorically. Some are rooted in intimate and personal issues while others reflect wider societal concerns. All of them connect with and explore the definition of art in the modern world. The journeys they take are disparate but sometimes complimentary.
They have built up a challenging conglomeration of contemporary, artistic expression, full of imagination and inventiveness, employing a fascinating range of media.
